Overview Zeno and Silva fight Chrollo, but don't kill him after Illumi calls them, having killed the mafia Dons. With no clients, there's no reason to fight and they leave. Fake dead bodies of the Phantom Troupe are found, calming the mafia community, and the auction takes place as planned. Kurapika meets with Gon, Killua, and Leorio. Hisoka sends a text to Kurapika telling him that the corpses are fake. Synopsis Zeno attacks Chrollo Before their battle starts, Silva warns his father about their opponent ability on stealing other people abilities. As they clash Chrollo keeps on dodging the attacks from Zeno and Silva, a few hits were landed by Zeno and manages to drop and push Chrollo back using his ability, Silva follows through, but Chrollo pulls out a knife and successfully cuts a small portion of Silva's hand. Silva immediately recognize the knife, it was a knife that contains toxins that can paralyze an elephant. As Silva removes the toxins, Zeno on the other hand evaluates the pros and cons of Chrollo stealing ability and came up with an idea that Chrollo needs to complete a certain conditions before he can successfully steal the ability. After listening to Zeno's conclusion, Chrollo left with no choice but to use his Nen ability, Zeno, advises Silva to take matter on his own hands by killing Chrollo even at the cost of Zeno's life. Upon approaching Chrollo, Zeno preparing his attack, Chrollo uses his own ability by pulling out a conjured cloak from his book. Zeno being cautious lashes out his technique and aims towards Chrollo while trying to hit Chrollo, Zeno made a further conclusion about Chrollo's ability by keeping him at a distance to avoid the cloak and then striking him at the right time. Watching closely, Silva is amaze on how Chrollo's awareness of him while dodging Zeno's attack at the same time. Thus, he believed that in order for them to take him down they needed to sacrifice themselves in order to do so. Silva charges his power distracting Chrollo then Zeno manages to caught Chrollo in his technique and draws closer on him and launches a barrage of attacks then orders Zeno to kill him and Silva launches his power towards them that trembles the whole building. Shortly, a live video on feed was shown and a member of the Ten Dons announces the death of Chrollo by the hands of the professional assassins and informing that the auction will resume. Unbeknownst to them, all of the Ten Dons were assassinated by Illumi, controlling the corpse to manipulate the audience. It was revealed that Chrollo hired Illumi to kill the Ten Dons and with this turn of events Zeno informs Chrollo that they don't have anymore reasons to kill him since the Ten Dons are their client and now were dead. A brief discussion is held by Chrollo and Zeno in regards on who with win if they fight one on one. Shortly after Silva and Zeno departs, Chrollo is disappointed that he could not steal their Nen abilities. Kurapika after seeing Chrollo's fake corpse The Underground Auction continues, but the Phantom Troupe as part of their plan takes over the event and they auction items which are replicas created from Kortopi's Nen ability. Kurapika on the other other hand was informed that the auction continues and that the leader of the Phantom Troupe were killed then he investigates the area and discovers the fake corpse of Chrollo, confirming his death. Other fake corpse from the members of the Phantom Troupe are found. Later on, Kurapika informs his boss that the auction is resuming then Light insists Kurapika to bid and obtain for the Kurta Clan Scarlet Eyes. After the bidding war ends Kurapika won the bidding. Gon, Killua, Leorio and Kurapika reunited Killua, Leorio, and Gon were seen looking for Kurapika. After Kurapika delivered the item to his colleagues, he later roams around the city while remembering his conversation with Gon about them joining him taking the Troupe which is not an option now since he thought that they are dead. Gon, Killua, Kurapika reunited at the a park then shortly Leorio joins. Kurapika then receives a message from Hisoka that the corpses were fake. TheEldritch Terrors are making a comeback, and they “won’t be reasoned with or stopped.” Very 2020. A recap of ‘The Eldritch Dark,” the season 4 This episode’s title is rather on-the-nose regarding the theme that ties its multiple storylines together — in the midst of all the corruption and shady business within the Commonwealth, who can be trusted? Zeke has a mysterious side hustle that requires help from Miko’s brother and Carol. Eugene needs Max and Mercer to risk their lives in order to figure out the connection between Sebastian and that list of names. And then there’s Lance Hornsby, who doesn’t seem to care that he’s alienated Daryl, Maggie, and all of Hilltop, especially now that he may have a new, powerful, and very pissed-off ally. The least consequential story belongs to Zeke. While it’s great to see the former king recovering nicely from surgery, the details of his underground entrepreneurial venture aren’t very compelling. He recruits Tomichi, Miko’s low-key-boozehound bro, to help him smuggle medical supplies, then gets rescued once again by Carol when they’re caught red-handed. It turns out he’s set up a secret triage space hidden inside his “veterinary treatment area” where they can care for folks who aren’t so lucky to qualify for aid under Miltoncare. After a few tense moments, a very sweaty Tomichi completes a rogue appendectomy. Where is this headed? I have no idea. What’s more intriguing than Zeke’s side hustle are his words to Carol While you’d think life at the Commonwealth would be easier, there’s really just more shades of gray true, and also, she’s stuck with him for the long haul meaning one of them, likely Zeke, is a goner. There’s also the matter of the list of names that ended up in Connie’s hands. Rosita and Eugene meet with Connie and her sis to explain the secret Sebastian death missions, and they realize April — the woman who was trapped in the safe room and ended up as a zombie catch of the day — is included on that very list. Perhaps Lance has been using Sebastian to do his dirty work, rounding up anti-Commonwealth radicals — another dangling plot that needs resolution — and sending them on suicide missions. Max can’t do this alone, but it’s a tough time to ask her brother for help, as Mercer is all in his feelings after assassinating two of his soldiers. Sure, they were vile dirtbags, but murder isn’t Mercer’s game or should we call him Mike? His name is Mike. One mystery solved! Luckily, the big man has a strong woman in his corner, as Princess establishes two facts The two of them have great sex, and although she talks constantly, she’ll listen whenever Mercer needs to talk which seems to be far less often than he needs sex. Thankfully for all the Mercer fans in the audience, Max interrupts his kettlebell workout to ask for answers regarding what the hot hell is going on behind the scenes in this crazy town. Glistening with perspiration yet barely out of breath, Mercer waxes philosophic What happens if the Commonwealth falls? Who will protect these 50,000 people an estimate which seems about as accurate as the Trump inauguration crowd, based on the foot traffic we’ve witnessed thus far? Max calls bullshit on Mercer’s claim that he’s “just a soldier,” as there’s literally a poster on the wall that proves he’s more superhero than grunt. Max’s rebuke, along with seeing his image next to the slogan “Do Your Part,” touch a nerve, prompting Mercer to release the crossover cables in a reckless manner that would certainly earn a reprimand at Planet Fitness. Surely he will join whatever fight is coming, especially now that Max agrees to steal whatever intel Eugene needs. Whether it’s Zeke’s hidden hospital or Eugene’s search for the truth, the shadow of Lance Hornsby looms over everything that isn’t quite right about the Commonwealth. His obsession with locating the stolen weapons first led him to Riverbend, where he’s not buying that a “priest and a one-armed guy” managed to survive a massacre that left Carlson’s entire unit dead. So he’s off to Hilltop, which brings us full circle to the beginning of episode nine Daryl stands outside the gates in soldier’s gear, telling Maggie that something needs to happen. That something is a search of the Hilltop grounds for not only guns but evidence that it’s Maggie’s team that took out Carlson’s squad. Lance thinks he’s found the proof he needs with a vintage Dodge that may have been their Riverbend escape vehicle, but no dice — the ol’ gal won’t turn over. However, he’s been sitting on a rather damning piece of evidence a baseball cap that just happens to fit little Hershel’s noggin perfectly. Lance gets a little too confrontational with the kid Take any trips lately? How about your mom?, and quicker than you can say, Corral, guns are drawn by Maggie, Daryl, and every soldier on the premises. Daryl has had enough of Lance’s orders, his mistrust of Maggie, and threats toward their kids; you know it’s serious when he drops a rare TWD f-bomb “You’ve turned this place upside down, and you’ve found nothin’,” he says to Hornsby. “So unless you wanna die for nuthin’, tell them to drop the guns before something really fucking bad happens.” Barrels are lowered, and Lance sarcastically remarks that it’s a “shame we couldn’t be friends” before leaving Hilltop empty-handed. But the smarm-master isn’t done searching for those guns, and as luck would have it, his big break comes in the darkness of night. Somehow, his troops locate a small, heavily armed tent, where two soldiers are promptly shot without warning. The gun-toting camper is Leah, of course, and Lance, knowing his enemy’s enemy is his friend, is smart enough to see her as less a threat than as a potential ally. He’s got a thing for folks who aren’t living the good life — note his creepy arousal earlier as Daryl, Aaron, and Gabe wiped out those walkers with head-splitting precision. Now, Lance sees a woman who single-handedly stole his guns, killed his soldiers, and is surviving all alone. Watching this is like doing an unwanted chore. Such a waste of opportunity!After saving it in my to-watch list the first day I saw the trailer on Netflix, I cleared my Friday night schedule to binge all the episodes, prepared my popcorn, and beer popped the first episode and I'm hooked! The first episode was compelling and was such a gorefest, I thought it is exactly how I want my horror show. The very first attack by the school nurse was heartstopping and showed a lot of promise. Sadly, after the 3rd episode, I am snoozing like a baby, drools and all. My expectations are low when it comes to horror. I come to be entertained and have a good time, and the more gruesome and the more bloody the better. Having said that, I have set my bar even lower for this series because I know it's teen-centric and I just want to enjoy and not nitpick details. This show, however, exceeded in delivering mind-numbing foolishness, and it's so easy to hate almost all characters that you can't stop wishing all of them would just be story is simple enough but could have been a goldmine of ideas and exciting scenarios. Instead, they dropped stupid and repetitive scenarios one after another. The character's eyes keep popping like a light bulb every time they think or they think they thought of of brilliant ideas to outsmart the zombies. You just can't help but cheer the zombies to finally have a go at it and just kill the characters1. One of the most frustrating is the way they handled Ohn Jo's father, they were building the story for him to be the big rescuer, and that he will do everything to save his daughter only to die minutes after reuniting with her. We were shouting at the screen when that happened cause they all clearly have a path to get away from the zombies, especially right after when he threw the first flare because it seems they can all go safely, Then, he unnecessarily threw the second and third flares. Very anti-climatic for his arc just to create the drama. 2. Seems like they were intent on just unnecessarily killing all the adults alive in the school to keep the narrative that the teens are on their own. 3. The vlogger was just a nuisance. I don't understand his importance to the story cause he did nothing at Do I need to mention Chiong San's mom? What about his dad who mysteriously disappeared?5, The police force. My goodness! I love Lee Kyu Hyung and even if his character here was almost the same as in Happiness, he is still also one of the few bright spots of the series. However, the whole Hyosan police force was just a dimwit bunch. Did you see how easy it was for the zombies to overrun the friggin police headquarters? The guys at the school put up a much better fight than these weakling cops. They got the main culprit -the brain behind the virus and they know the virus is spreading and you interrogate him like it's a normal crime? Has no one there thought of coordinating with the other agencies, and telling them that they have the crazy scientist, turn him over and make him do the antidote or something. No, they all panicked when the zombies attacked the police station, no one even thought of maybe finding some weapons because just maybe there are some because THEY ARE IN THE FRIGGIN POLICE STATION!6. What about the assemblywoman? What's her actual contribution to the whole story?7. Did you see how the teen mom tied her hands with that ribbon, to keep her from eating the baby? She's a zombie, not a gift box, that ribbon looks so thin that when she became a zombie she could have snapped it easily. Oh but that ribbon is made of steel and it held her overnight. And that baby? It must have superhuman powers to survive that long without The bullied girl in the rooftop. I was thinking they'd give her a recovery arc, but no, she is just as self-centered as her bullies. She was so happy to announce that she SET THE SCHOOL ON FIRE, but girl has to check that statement cause all she did was burn the papers in the office, nothing more. Hasn't she seen the fire sprinklers working? A fight between her and GwiNam could have been And OMG that bullied guy. I kinda understand why he did what he did on the rooftop, but then he was at the camp, met this girl, and he tells him I want to eat you, and then he just let her. That scenario alone could have opened a lot of possible chaotic scenarios inside the camp. I was kinda expecting the zombies to spread there, but no, nothing of that sort. It's like the guy's existence is just to make the abandonment of the kids in the rooftop climatic, which by the way is I would like to mention the countless stupid ways to escape a zombie apocalypse but this is already way too long. They even spent almost an episode literally talking about shit. They complained about thirst and hunger but didn't bother to find food and water and yet they spent quite some time teaching us how to do the number 2 during an makes it sadder, is that I find not a single character to latch on to - not the drama queen, not her puppy best friend, not the pretend goody goody jock, not even the smartass who could have been their gifted savior. What they delivered instead was a puke-invoking bunch of whiny pimpled teenage characters who can't stop talking about their silly crushes and quite a few useless adult characters who make selfish and terrible decisions. There are only two characters I didn't hate- Gwi Nam is a scary psycho and the funny delinquent Mi-Jin. Had they shifted the focus to these two, they could have created a witty frightening gore. I just have to add that my favorite part was when they were on the rooftop and singing cause that felt can't help but wonder why this show got a 12-episode order as opposed to Kingdom which has 6 per season and Sweet Home which has 10. The show could have used a lot of editing and maybe it will feel better if it was just 8 or even recommend having a go at it using your mobile device, that way you can change the playback speed, otherwise, if you're watching on your smart tv just have the remote ready and just feel free to skip the boring parts. A major crisis was averted in For All Mankinds Season 2 finale by the heroic sacrifice of not one but two astronauts. With the rest of Jamestown’s crew being held hostage by the Russians, it was up to exes Gordo and Tracy to stop a nuclear meltdown from destroying the base and making the moon uninhabitable for thousands of years. But doing so required the pair to venture outside on the lunar surface without proper space suits, which ultimately led to their tragic deaths after an incredibly intense save. Below, executive producer Ronald D. Moore reveals why Gordo and Tracy both had to die and previews what the significant loss means for Season 3 which, as teased in the finale, will jump ahead to a human being on Mars in 1994. The EP also weighs in on the Baldwins’ marriage and the surprise reveal that Margo is unintentionally working for the Russians. TVLINE When did you make the decision to kill off Gordo and Tracy? It was relatively late in the game. We were working on the last few episodes, and shooting was already underway. We had set the puzzle pieces in place — the nuclear meltdown on the moon, Apollo-Soyuz and Pathfinder all being the three main events — and we started talking seriously about Gordo or Tracy going out and making the run, and then somebody in the room said, “One of them could die when that happens.” We all sort of shied away from that. It’s like, “No, no, no, I don’t want to kill the character,” and the conversation continued, and then somebody else said, “Or they could both do it, and they could both die,” and then we really recoiled away from that. We were like, “No, we love those characters and the actors, and I don’t want to do that.” But as time went on and we kept talking about the story, we just kept coming back to it. It was like a gravitational pull, and at a certain point, you start listening to that as writers and going, “There’s a reason we keep talking about it,” and we started to seriously talk about it and game it out and talk about the pros and cons, and what really became clear to us was it was the right ending for their story. Looking at the overall story of Gordo and Tracy from the beginning of the series and their marriage, the way they met, Tracy’s opportunity to become an astronaut, the way it affects Gordo’s career… They split up between the seasons, and then in this season, you see them on very different paths, but slowly, both of them going to the moon and both of them gradually learning and moving back towards each other. The right ending was the two of them together to sacrifice themselves and save the world, and that felt like that was the best possible ending to their tale, and so we just decided to embrace it. TVLINE There was never a scenario in play where Tracy lived and only Gordo died? Well, we did talk about it. We talked about both versions. We talked about a version where Gordo died, we talked about a version where Tracy died, but we weren’t satisfied with either version. We decided not to do either of those, and the version where they both died was the only really viable one. TVLINE The way that they die is so brutal. How did you land on that specific type of death for them? The idea of running across the moon without a suit on was something I pitched to the room as just an idea, because I’ve always been fascinated with the notion that you can live for a brief period of time in a vacuum, even though a lot of science fiction posits [that] as soon as you are exposed to the vacuum, your head explodes or something, and that’s not actually true. The sequence in 2001 A Space Odyessy where Keir Dullea goes outside the spacecraft without his helmet on and survives was always something that affected me as a kid. I was like, “Whoa, that’s crazy, you can do that.” So that notion was always in the back of my mind in terms of a cool science fiction beat to play. But if we’re going to do it on our show, we take the science so seriously. How would it really work, and how would they do it? And then someone in research came up with the notion of the duct tape suits, that they should try to do something to construct some kind of suit for themselves for the heat and for pressure, to keep their skin from just literally billowing out and bursting, and that was the only way that they could possibly do it. So we just tried to listen to everybody and tried to construct the scenario so that it was as plausible as possible. TVLINE How did the actors, Sarah Jones and Michael Dorman, react to their death scenes? They were shocked when we told them. It wasn’t something, I think, anyone saw coming. It’s hard to say that to an actor, that we’ve decided to kill your character, and here is why. But when we explained the reasoning to it and said, “Here’s why we are doing it, and what it means,” they both were on board, and they were both like, “I get it.” They were sort of heartsick at leaving the show, and we were heartsick at letting them go, but I think they understood that it was all done for the betterment of the story and the characters, and it wasn’t that we didn’t love Sarah and Michael, because we adored Sarah and Michael, and they adored being on the show. But it was just everyone recognized that this was the best ending. TVLINE It does close their storyline, but what does it open up for you in terms of storytelling potential looking ahead at the next season? It opens up a lot of things. One of the unique aspects of the show is that this is a generational show. It moves through the decades. So people are going to come and go. Some people are going to die, some people are going to move out of the story, younger people are going to grow up. Gordo and Tracy’s kids are young adults in Season 2. Well, they’re going to be real adults in Season 3. So they’re moving into that space as well. And now you also have Ed and Karen and their relationships with the two boys, which are very different, obviously, and the stories that that opens up in the gap of the parents being gone, and how does that affect those two boys, and how does that affect the people that knew and loved them? So there’s a lot of fertile ground to continue to play. TVLINE As you’re skipping ahead 10 years, given the time jump, will you need to recast the character of Kelly with an older actress? We take that decision a season at a time. We’re not recasting Kelly for Season 3, and the same goes for Danny and Jimmy, but we’ll see as we go forward. It’s kind of an open question. You kind of have to wrestle with ideas of makeup versus recasting, but we haven’t made those decisions yet. TVLINE The Russians have been using Margo. So are Sergei’s feelings for Margo real at all? It seemed that they had a connection. I believe Sergei’s feelings for Margo are real. I think Sergei’s in a difficult position, certainly. TVLINE Is Sergei also being manipulated by the Russians? I think that’s a fair way to look at it. He’s not part of the KGB. He is a scientist. He is running their version of the space program in Star City. You saw how the military influence in NASA impacted Margo’s job. She had difficulty in dealing with the Pentagon. Sergei has his own trouble dealing with the KGB and the Soviet military. So he’s not embedded in their intelligence service, but certainly, he was used by it. TVLINE Is there any significance to Margo standing in front of JFK’s grave and the eternal flame at the end of the finale? Sure, it was his vision that set the United States on the path to the moon, even though in our version of history, the Russians beat them there. He was, just like in real history, a hugely influential, hugely inspirational figure to people like Margo Madison, and the eternal flame burns for a lot of different symbolic reasons to someone like Margo Madison. TVLINE The end of the finale also leaves things quite open-ended with regards to Karen and Ed’s marriage. They come and leave in separate cars from the funeral. What would you say is the state of their marriage at this point? Not in a good place. TVLINE Is there hope for them? I think there’s always hope. We’ll see. I don’t think it’s a done deal by any means that it’s really over. They’re connected intimately in each other’s lives and probably always will be. The question is Where do they go from here? Momo and Nobara clash over their ideals as female sorcerers and a fierce sibling rivalry finally concludes. Plot Details Kasumi inquiring to Mai about her sister prior to the event. Kasumi recalls asking Mai about her sister Maki while they were training for the Goodwill Event. Mai claimed she was weak and forever a grade 4 sorcerer so Kasumi was relieved. However, in the present, Kasumi is locked in battle with Maki. She's incredibly strong and easily overpowering her opponent, eventually kicking Kasumi down into a stream. Forced to counterattack, Kasumi prepares her Simple Domain as Maki approaches. However, Maki reads through her swordsmanship technique and breaks her own spear in half. She throws the non-cursed tool half and a kunai as a distraction, forcing Kasumi to move out of place, deactivating the domain. After getting in close, Kasumi disarms Miwa and takes her sword. Watching through the view of one of her crows, Mei Mei mentions that Maki should be promoted immediately. Satoru agrees but he points out the Zenin Family is difficult about it. He also asks why the footage around Yuji's fight has been shaky. Mei Mei claims animals are fickle and she hasn't been watching Yuji. Satoru asks who Mei Mei is rooting for and she replies that she's only on the side of money. Despite Kyoto's plans, Satoru believes Yuji can't be dealt with so easily anymore. Maki showcases her fighting prowess. Meanwhile, Nobara is unable to catch Momo as she rides through the air on her broom. She's hit with Momo's cursed energy infused wind and is then hit in the face with the levitating broom itself. After returning to the air, Momo explains that female sorcerers have it much harder, sorcerers like Mai. She's under pressure from the Zenin Family, but Nobara doesn't seem to care. Nobara continues firing nails and Momo evades while send wind back in return. However, the wind isn't powerful enough to lift Nobara after she's been training with Panda. Additionally, Momo is too worried about the possibility of Toge appearing at any moment. Nobara rejects Momo's ideals on female sorcerers. Momo continues to explain the pressures Mai has to go through as a "failure of the Zenin Family" and says she's confused since she considers curses friends. Annoyed, Nobara completely rejects Momo. Misfortune doesn't give someone the right to be cruel, being fortunate doesn't mean someone has to be nice. Maki had the same upbringing as Mai but they're far from the same. Nobara refuses to excuse her actions and tells Momo to think about the person they've already committed to condemning as a curse. Nobara begins her assault by activating Straw Doll Technique Hairpin, which causes all of the nails she missed to explode with cursed energy. The explosions and falling trees make it difficult for Momo to navigate. This allows Nobara to jump and grab one of the bristles off Momo's broom. She exclaims that she loves herself when she's being strong and when she's being beautiful, fully rejecting Momo's battle of the sexes. Using Straw Doll Technique Resonance, Nobara dispels Momo's control over her broom, causing her to crash. Using her squeaky hammer, Nobara pummels Momo but she's shot in the temple with a cursed energy-infused rubber bullet that instantly knocks her unconscious. Hairpin! Mai calls Momo after to inform her that Mechamaru has likely been eliminated. As their phone conversation ends, Maki comes to confront Mai in the trees. She tells Mai to call for backup but she claims to want this fight all to herself. Maki recalls Nobara and Yuji talking about her strength. She tells herself not to get distracted, but it does end up inspiring her. Annoyed by her sister's smile, Mai begins firing but Maki is able to slice through the bullets and easily evade the shots. At close range, Maki easily overpowers her. Even Mai knows she was born with something she doesn't have. Maki is taken off guard by her sister's cursed technique. Mai recalls the Zenin household talking about the young girl's inability to use cursed techniques. She could see curses and would be afraid, but Maki was never scared and always went straight for her future. She left the clan despite telling Mai she wouldn't leave her behind, only to return to become head of the clan. Mai believes her sister is a liar and claims to hate her. The Zenin sisters sibling rivalry comes to a somber end. Their battle continues and Maki forces her opponent to use all six of her shots. She closes in, but this is actually a bluff by Mai, who always hated her sister and never told her about developing an Innate Technique. Construction creates something from nothing using cursed energy, requiring an immense amount that has a harsh effect on Maki's body. Her limit is one bullet a day and it nearly reaches Maki. However, her speed and reflexes are too great, allowing her to catch it with her bare hands. Mai knows that Maki was born with a Heavenly Restriction like Mechamaru. She has little to no cursed energy so she was born with exceptional physical prowess. However, this was never acknowledged by the Zenin Family. Mai asks Maki why she left and says they should have fallen down the hole together. Maki couldn't live that way, so she had to leave. She apologizes, but in the past, Maki promised never to leave her sister behind. After Maki moves on to another area on the battlefield, Mai still considers her a liar and expresses her disappointment.
